THE PIT OF DESPAIR is a journal comic of one Gabriel Dunston. These stories are true. It updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Most comics are meant to be funny and ALL comics are meant to be family-friendly.
THE CHARACTERS:
Our Hero
Socially clumsy and extremely awkward, Gabe is essentially a gentle guy who’s trying to earn the simple life more or less the right way. He thinks God is laughing at him, but he’s glad SOMEBODY thinks he’s funny.
Megan
Megan is everything Gabe thinks the perfect wife should be: gorgeous, extremely funny, strong-willed, southern, and married to him. As a nurse at the local hospital, Megan is the bread-winner as well as the ever supportive rock of the family. Gabe thinks she’s really great and is sad that none of his drawings do her justice.
Penny
Penny was Gabe’s childhood dog. She is missed.
Lydia
Adorable and strange, Lydia is finicky, independent, and out of her mind. In a word, she is a cat. As a kitten, she was rescued by Megan from an animal shelter. Gabe, who was at first an AVID cat-hater, was won over by Lydia’s affection and playful nature. After a rocky start Penny and Lydia have become friends and partners in crime.

This is me.
I have a degree in English and a minor in Percussion from East Carolina University. I withdrew from school 2 years shy of receiving a degree in Graphic Design. During most marching seasons and pre-seasons I am a Drumline instructor, but all other times I’m primarily a Stay-at-Home-Dad.
I’m colorblind, Catholic, southern, and I have a hearing problem. I enjoy drums, food, comics, cartoons, music, sweet tea, my wife, and food.
I live in my home-town of Raleigh NC.
